DARREN

After School Club Leader & Private Singing Teacher

 

Darren started his performance training at Italia Conti Chislehurst from eleven to sixteen before being offered the opportunity to train full time at the Italia Conti Academy in London. Over the last ten years he has had the great pleasure of being able to pass on the wonderful training he received to the next generation of budding stars, and is thrilled to count a whole host of West End, Television and Pop Stars as previous students.

 

Alongside a successful teaching career, Darren also finds the time to still be a professional performer, and has recently completed the UK Tour of the Rod Stewart Musical Tonight’s The Night, understudying the leading role of Stoner.

 

His previous live performance credits include Zeke in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Royal Masonic Gala (Theatre Royal Drury Lane), ISTD Centennial Anniversary Gala (Sadler’s Wells Theatre), Backing Dancer on the Will Young and Gareth Gates UK Tour, Lead Vocalist and Company Manager in the original Freedom2Move cast onboard the Ocean Village Two cruise liner, Dandini in Cinderella, Lead Vocalist for The Headliners Theatre Company onboard P&O Arcadia, Abanazar in Aladdin, Captain Hook in Peter Pan and King Rat in Dick Whittington.

 

Darren also won a Best Actor Award for his leading role in the film Goodbye to Yesterday, and has made various other television and film appearances including Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Shy Guy in Sky One’s Brainiac: Science Abuse, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Dancer in the Baditude music video for Sam Obernik, Simon in feature film Keep Yourself Alive, News Reporter in The King Of Soho, Stones in the music video for Sticks & Stones by Sam Harrison, Ross in Marilyn & Me, David in Twisted Love, Various episodes of Dark Matters: Twisted But True, Leslie Phillips Chauffeur in Hello… Twittersnappers, and most recently Sebastian, the fourth Earl of Glasgow in Lee Nelsons’ Well Funny People.

 

Darren is fast becoming one of the entertainment industries most respected and sought after director-choreographers, and has produced work for various performing arts academies and production companies across the country. In the past 5 years he has worked on Fame, The Wiz, Copacabana, Alice in Wonderland, Bugsy Malone, Oliver!, Annie, Disco Inferno, A Slice Of Saturday Night, and A Night Of G.L.E.E, as well as a number of variety shows at Her Majesty’s Theatre, The Old Vic, The Stag Theatre, The Broadway Theatre, The Bob Hope Theatre, and The New Wimbledon Theatre.
