STA was founded in 2014 by Sara Ferguson.
Our goal is to teach singing, dance, drama, guitar and piano skills in a fun, supportive environment.
STA in Bexleyheath, Kent provides Friday evening part-time classes in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Street Jazz, Musical Theatre, Drama, Singing and guitar lessons to young children aged 3+
Including Adult Tap (18+)
STA has also expanded to Slade Green and Lee on Wednesday evenings. These branches offer Ballet, Musical Theatre and Street Jazz.
Our ballet and tap classes are all using ISTD syllabus.ISTD is where pupils can then take examinations in Ballet, tap and modern.
Our students may take as few or as many classes as they wish.
Pupils are generally grouped in Narrow age bands-
6months-3years (Mini Stars)
This is to ensure that children are challenged and that the work that is covered is suitable for their age. Most classes are half hour sessions for younger pupils / lower grades growing to an hour for the older classes / higher graded syllabus classes.
STA also give children the opportunity to perform in showcases, from church halls to theatres to show friends and family all their hard work.
All classes are taught by professionals, who are fully trained qualified teachers in ISTD.
Our classes are a great way to build children’s confidence and most importantly- to have fun!
Star Train Academy is run by Sara Ferguson, a multi-skilled performer and business woman, who trained at the prestigious Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London. After dedicating the last 10 years of her life to training in various dance disciplines, styles and techniques she wishes now to share her knowledge with the next generation of budding "Stars".
Sara's years in the entertainment industry have allowed her to meet and work with some of the most prolific and experienced names in the business, and as such she has gathered a phenomenal team of teachers and staff to work at Star Train Academy.
"When I was young, all I wanted to do was dance, sing and act, and there was nowhere nearby for me to learn from top industry professionals. I had to travel every weekend to attend dance classes and then several miles away from home every day to attend Performing Arts School in London just to extend my knowledge and passion for performing. It has always been a goal of mine to take all of the training and techniques I have learnt from the top choreographers, directors and musicians in the industry, and provide an affordable place for young people to come and learn such skills in the local area. Where better to start than home!" – Sara Ferguson, Principal of STA
